People have some strange ideas about how to ship their suspension components in for service. We have seen everything from a custom built wooden crate that took us nearly an hour to get into, to a guy who just put his Triple-Adjustable Penske into a paper envelope and mailed it to us! We have had people mail us packages with signature required so that we had to go to the post office and stand in line for an hour to sign. We offer the best service, but we cannot afford to stand in line at the post office for free! As a result, we have a few helpful hints to help get your components here and keep them from being damaged. When shipping forks, wrap each fork separately with something protective (bubble wrap, an old bath towel). Then, with both forks facing the same direction (axle clamps together and fork caps together), tape the forks together so they don't bang against one another in transit. Finally, pack in a box that's roomy enough for padding all the way around the forks - including the top and bottom (8"x8"x36" box suggested). Don't forget to include your information sheet with your name, phone number, shipping info, payment info and what you want done to the forks. Also, let us know when you will race again so that we can get them done in time to ship them back. Typically, we rely on UPS for shipping and recommend them for all packages. It's $20 to ship a pair of forks, and $12 for a shock including insurance through UPS. FedEx will also provide you with good service, if your prefer them, or they are more convenient to you. Insure your forks or shock for $1000. UPS charges $.33 for $100 insurance, and you can't beat that! NOTE: NEVER, EVER USE THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE. We have NEVER received a package from the postal service that wasn't smashed, busted open, or completely demolished!!! Their regulations for insured packages require that you wait 30 days before you can even file a claim for damages. I guarantee it will cost you more, and your parts will be damaged!!! If you choose to ignore this warning and ship USPS, DO NOT send the package "Signature Required". If we have to send someone to the Post Office to stand in line for your package, WE WILL CHARGE YOU $75 FOR OUR TIME! As usual, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to call.
